Accidentally cut spike on Asian Cymbidium...
Hello,
I have an Asian Cymbidium that suffered some hard times for about 4 years. I was just doing some regular maintenance--cutting back the dead leaves, when I noticed that I accidentally cut the tip (< 1 cm) of new stalk (just 2 inches tall) that was hidden behind some dead leaves. Will the stalk be able to grow? There is only 1 new stalk, and it's very unfortunate that I've gone and cut the FIRST growth that this Cym has experienced. :( |
Welcome to the Orchid Board. Unfortunate but what is done is done. I really cut into my finger once doing the same thing. If it really wants to bloom it will find a way. You'll just have to be patient. If you waited four years a little longer should past quickly. Since it was just starting it should still be able to grow.
