New seedling on sphagnum moss

Hello everyone,

I just received a bunch of new seedlings of cattleyas . They're actually in sphagnum moss. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to water these? So far I've only been using wood chips and leca as medium. I'm aware that sphag retains more water thus the question. I mean I wouldn't want to over water the seedling and just watch them die.

Do the same rules apply for catts with sphag? Do i wait until the moss is completely dry before watering them? And how much water do i want to put on the moss when watering?

I'll give two pieces of advice, based upon my own experience:

1) Barely moisten the sphagnum to avoid compressing it.
2) If you're used to bark mixes, move the plants over as soon as you can so all of your culture is more-or-less standardized.

Thanks Ray, I was actually thinking of moving them to bark mixes but I noticed that there are multiple new growths coming out on 2 of them and one actually has a sheath. That's why I'm hesitant in disturbing them.
