hi everyone,hope this is just my glasses playing tricks on me :biggrin:but i just have to ask,i re-pot my orchid phals 2/13/10 her roots were a few but they were firm & looking good anyways her new leaf are not looking so happy im watering every week useing fert every other watering i got her 3weeks now she had some new flower but they didn't open they drop off she only has one flowers blooming do you think i should cut the spike off:( and get stuff to grow her some roots & if yes what should i get,here are some pic

it appears that there may be some crown rot going on with that plant...maybe when you watered you left some water in the crown of the plant? or possibly it happened before you got it.....if so, you can put a dab of peroxide in the crown, let it set for a few min and blow it out and dry the crown...

Dounaharm is right (imho). If you pull on the leaf it might come off. The peroxide will "eat" death tissue too. You might want to apply it several times in a row (for intance 4 times in an hour) but then dry *very well*. Pouring cinnamon powder in the crown helps it dry too, and is a mild disinfectant. I've seen doing this people with succes. If the rot stops, it might grow a basal keiki for you.
