Vanda liouvillei
A specie from Burma (Myanmar), Laos and Thailand. Many forms exit with different colours, tesselations and shape of the lips who make this specie sometimes a bit difficult to identify. Fragant in the morning.

Looks very similar to brunnea.
I like it. How big are the flowers on this one? :) |
you're right Carl and it is often wrongly identified as V. brunnea in collections. Th shape of the lip is quite different but shape is not always constant with this specie. The easier way to identify is to check sidelobes : triangular in liouvillei but round for V. brunnea.
Flowers are 3.5 to 4.5 cm. |
Here are the picts again , a problem appears on the host web site :

Thanks Sp2340 and Steve !
Steve, V. liouvillei is a small size plant. It is around 20 cm ( around 8 inches if I am right). |
Good growing!
