Laelia purpurata var. flammea

Laelia purpurata is an endless source of colors! It is almost unbelievable how beautiful these flowers can be. For many, this is the perfect orchid: many colorful, large and perfumed flowers produced on a single spike. Sometimes people who like the species and would love to have it in their collections but have little space complain that it is large plant. It is true in a sense, like someone mentioned the other day, I mean, L. purpurata can be a relatively tall plant, but does not occupy much horizontal space.
Here I'm showing one of my flammeas, a variety that has very deeply colored flowers including the side lobes of the lip!
