Where these good buys for $5 each? Laelias!
 

Hi all,

I'm pretty excited about these finds. I got them from a woman from an ad on craigslist.

One is Laelia purpurata var carnea, the other is Laelia pacava. I'm so curious to see if they'll do well in my house.

I have them on a west facing window sill. At her house, she had them under lights.

Here you go. Please look at these images and let me know if you see anything I should worry about... but overall I think they look good and healthy.

Great find! If anybody else is interested in finding orchids locally I wrote on article for my society on buying and selling orchids on Craigslist. The main drawback of Craigslist is that posts are automatically deleted after a week but RSS offers a perfect solution...for more info check out the info I compiled on RSS for orchid growers.

I would say, you got a great deal!

One of them just bloomed and the other is in sheath. Check out the blooms! This one is the Laelia purpurata var carnea
