Podangis dactyloceras : propagation attempt...
5 Attachment(s)
I've never tried seed propagation... therefore I am jumping in blindly
Just got this Podangis 2 months ago with a spike developing. After all the flowers were opened for a few days, I self pollinated them (crossing the pollen between the flowers). And the pods are already starting to grow... Just the beginning of a new story... I still don't know what I'm going to do if I get seeds, but I have time to think about it (about 130 days before pods are ready apparently...) Anyone here tried this species? |
Well then you have plenty of time to research asymbiotic in-vitro methods of seed sowing.
What this means is that you're sowing the orchid seeds in a bottle without the species of fungus that helps the seeds germinate. The means to sow the seeds may be similar to those for Aerangis, as that's what they're related to. |
