Seidentadenia (Aerides) mitrata
2 Attachment(s)
My Seidentadenia mitrata (was once considered to be an aerides) is blooming. It is quite fragrant.
Here are a couple of pics to enjoy. :D |
Looks great David!
Mine has 4 spikes, but only the first one has started to pop open it's buds... It is one of my favorite fragrant ones! |
Oh that is sooo cute. What does it smell like?
|
Thanks Laura and Tracy,
tracy...it's got a light, sweet, spicy fragrance, not too heavy at all. :D |
Oh, I love it. I don't do well with mounted plants, but could I grow something like that hanging among my vandas, which get watered every day? I think it might stay more humid in among the vandas. Remember, I live in Michigan, and grow my vandas in my basement under HID lights.
I have 5 vandas in bloom at the present time. I might have difficulty finding one large enough to hang there but I would like to try if you think it would do well there. Marilyn |
Very nice! The terete leaved aerides is very beautiful.

Beautifully grown and photographed. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous! I love the contrast between the dark spike and the stark blooms. Cool mount too! Very natural and wild-looking.
|
David, I love the way you have this mounted!
It's gorgeous! :cloud9: |
That's a beautiful plant. Those long pendant leaves remind me of a brassavola (maybe perrinnii). Congratulations on this one. It looks great.
