:hello everybody !!! I just want to share with you all both of my new paphs that I just got today. These are:

- Paph bellatulum x sib ('Standing Tall' x 'Red on Red')
- Paph lowii

The lowii is my biggest, tallest Paph so far. That plant is gigantic:biggrin: The last picture shows them both side by side for comparison. Enjoy !!!!

Hi Roly,

You're paphs look great! I'm especially fond of the lowii, its such a gorgeous one to have.
Just a tip about the lowii - keep it moist, allow for some drying but don't allow to dry out totally - water well when just damp or it will turn on you
You did good!

what competiton?? :scratchhead:

Another tip for Paph. bellatulum (perhaps you know this already, but others may not): this species and other related species are very intolerant of water in the crowns of the plant under most conditions and will quickly rot.

Thanks for the tip Lagoon. Matt, Franco and I purchased the bellatulum from the same vendor off of eBay and now it's to see who blooms it first.

Thanks Ronald. I've got some other Parvis and I'm very careful not to have water in the crown. If it does happen I use a Qtip ti dry it off.

Ooh I see then, this should be fun - nothing wrong with some friendly competition I say

Re: water in crown - the Q-tip can actually push more water inside the crown area - so careful :)
I have found it better to tip the plant sideways and blow out the water.

Betcha' the lowii blooms first

Happy Blooms you guys!

I can't wait for the lowii to bloom. I do that too blow on it to try to get rid of the water. However I water early in the morning so that there will be time for the water to evaporate if there is any I don't get to dry.
