KelpMax/Kelpak use on various plants
Many growers have reported fantastic results when using kelp extract on orchids; I am wondering if someone tried on other plant families and how they adapted dosage for individual needs (bonus points if someone has experience with Nepenthes!)

I’ll take those bonus points - my Nepenthes get Kelpak monthly just like my orchids (and Quantum, but never fertilizer), at the same 1:250 concentration.
I have a N. ventrata that was acquired as a single growth in a 3” pot in July of 2020, which I transferred to a basket of sphagnum. It soon grew two more, that didn’t take to the cool, dry winter indoors. The following summer, it grew to have 7 vines, and this year it just exploded. Kelpak has been used on every kind of crop imaginable, going back some 40 years. Here's a link to the US 1L label, which has recommendations. |
When I'm done soaking my orchids I think it's a shame to dump out all the water with kelpak so I usually give it to my house plants and balcony plants. For some the effects were very clearly noticeable. My Scindapsus aureus in particular really responds well and produces many more meters of new stems than it usually did. I had to give it a severe pruning this summer because it was was going to completely take over our bedroom!

Fantastic, this is exactly what I was hoping for, thank you for the input.
This ventrata is incredible Ray, I can't believe you got to this point in 2 years! |
