Paphs Arrived.

30 in all. About 20 in spike and low bud, the rest busy growing like weeds fresh off volcano mountain road. When they start to bloom, I'll let ya in on what they are and how beautiful. My 1st orchid loves are the Slippers. :waving

Paph. Tempting Philip. Lots of high class orchid blood in this hybrid w/18 inch wingspan and 3 growths 1 new. No spikes or buds so we shall see how long this one takes to bloom out :)

Lehua Orchids?

Optimist 06-10-2022 08:02 AM

Those are heavy-duty big whoppers of paphs and phrags! Wow! My main concern (do I have concerns?) is that they kind of like "cool" growing, a lot of them, and Houston-- wow that is hotter than (insert favorite hotter than metaphor here). Would like to see how it goes!

RJSquirrel 06-10-2022 01:33 PM

yes Ray knows a Lehua paph when he sees one just on how well they are grown.

Lehua Orchids | The Slipper Zone

All paphs this time. Phrags are hard for Mr Wood to keep in the greenhouse.
Walk ins gobble them up like orchid candy even in Hawaii :)

The large paphs are all phillipenense hydrids of some fashion. I just let them (graham) choose what to send me and I'm always happy.

lots of this in them as parent pod or seed

I dare say some with small seedlings of these should take a peek at the huge philips. These plants grown to the highest expectations on avg are no more than 3 to 5 years old.
