Phalaenopsis with Largest Blooms?

From what I've seen, if I am correct, the ubiquitous white Phalaenopsis with a bit of color in the center have the largest blooms. I'm wondering whether there is a particular variety of Phalaenopsis which has the largest flowers, the longest and densest blooming spikes, and the most spikes and biggest plants in general, prioritized in that order haha

:thanx:

By the book will be the Gigantea and the Singolo One.
However, you can find hybrids with huge flowers.

I also like big Phals flowers 💕

By variety I assume that you mean species?

Many of the large white flowered hybrids have Phal amabilis, philippinensis or aphodite in their ancenstry. Selective breeding then helped create Phals with specific traits, such as very large blooms.

Largest Phal (plant size) is Phal gigantea. Individual leaves can grow to be over 25 inches long.

Floriferous species include Phal schilleriana, some stuartiana, equestris (though flowers are sequential and short lived)

Thanks very much for the recommendations. The Singolo One is very interesting!

And I agree, they are very beautiful and impressive :)

I love your website, will be sure to return!

Apologies, I thought Phalaenopsis would be the species, and "varieties" would be something like subspecies.

Well I guess flower size with these types of moth/moon orchids really appeals to me most! Amabilis and philippensis sound familiar to me. I have seen these very big flowered white Phals at the local grocery store. They are strikingly large, and I am just curious if any Orchid specialist breeder might have developed something, perhaps rare, and even bigger :)

Does anyone recommend a particular seller for these kinds of species/hybrids?

There are probably tons of hybrids out there that have the qualities you are looking for. However there are so many that it makes it really really difficult to suggest and particular ones. I’d be wary about the Singolo, I don’t think the single bloom is genetic, and much like the blue dyed phals it will probably revert to standard the next blooming.

I didn't know this, I have 2 and they have bloomed singolo again and are huge...both were gifts so I didn't research much
