Propagation of Anoeoctochilus Formosanus

Hi guys,
I got this little Anoeoctochilus Formosanus orchid recently.
However, the pot it has was a bit on the small side, the plant was leaning over the border of the pot and the pot was too light.
So one day the pot fell over - I knew I had to repot it, but I had not time yet to buy a better pot!

Anyways, it fell over and dropped, and the stem of my orchid broke.

I wonder whether this can be saved now. I made a clean cut where it broke and popped the thing in water. I noticed that it has a little "bump" where, what I think is the node, is.
Does that actually work or is this a useless experiment?
Or should I probably put it in sphagnum moss?

If this works, and the accidental cutting roots, how long should I expect this to take, and how long should the roots approximately become until I can put the plant back in a pot? and also, could I use pon or other mineral substrates? I received it potted in sphagnum, but I actually prefer mineral substrates because the fungus gnats and other pests dislike it. And I have heaps of it ;-)

And, also important, do I need to have some sort of humidity "tent" over the cutting to root successfully? humidity in my home is quite well regulated to a constant 50%.

Yes, they root from cuttings like that. I have read people set them on top of moist, but not wet, sphagnum moss in an enclosed container with high humidity.

Hi,
thanks for the quick response!
do you know whether water propagation is also possible? and is my humidity too low so it won't work?
