Dendrobium Parishii Potting / Care

Just received Dendrobium Parishii.

The plant is good and matured.
please have a look

It is plastic mounted.
The roots look green in some areas and white in the remaining areas. What color do these roots suppose to be?

I live in a hot climate. Is it a good idea to pot it with some fast-draining medium so that the plant can have some moisture throughout the day? . But is it a good idea to mount hang the plant? Should I water multiple times in summer if mounted?

How frequently this should be watered?

How to start caring this one in the right way?

There is a Keiki (?) with some roots. Should I do something for that?

Too many questions :)
Thanks in advance

Not too many questions! It is a nice, healthy plant. If you can grow it mounted that would probably be easiest in some ways, but it would need daily watering. What are the temperature and humidity in your growing area? Would you have time to water it every day during the growing season?

It is 11 PM. As I am writing this, it is 26 C and 80% humidity. The summers are hot and dry. I saw a 40 C day couple of months back. We have a short winter where the temperature would not fall below 20 C

What season is the growing period of this species?

---------- Post added at 11:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:12 PM ----------

generally humidity will vary from around 50 to 80

It comes from a warm summer monsoonal climate. It grows in spring and summer, and is dormant in winter. When humidity is high 40C should not be a problem. It grows on tree branches in bright shade or dappled sun, not full sun. As long as it gets a lot of water during warm months it will grow well. In winter watering can be reduced a lot, to perhaps once or twice a week for a mounted plant. Light fertilizing is helpful from early spring to midsummer.

Thank you.
Do you think a fertilizer with urea won't be working for bare foot roots?

I'm only guessing. If the roots remain moist during warm weather bacteria in the media should quickly break down urea to other forms of nitrogen. Bird droppings contain urea and a lot of orchids in nature are exposed to them.

I mounted it on a slab it looks good. I have committed to water it adequately. Let us see.

Would the roots grow in all directions? I assumed a downward growth and mounted on top of the slab? Maybe I need to mount it in the center of the slab. Is hanging is better than wall mounting? Am I missing anything here?

Thanks

The roots will grow everywhere. It looks fine as it is.
