Bletilla striata var alba
|
Yours look really nice. I have some growing in the garden that just sort of survive, but are not really doing great. Maybe I will dig them up and pot them like yours.
|
You should prevent the dormant bulbs to get watered...in a garden it might be difficult.
If you put one or two bulbs in a pot, it will grow like weeds. |

Wonderful color pattern! Mine is totally white!

White and hot pink are the color forms most often seen, I just got a coerulea.. it needs to do some growing to become impressive, but another very nice variation on the theme. And Bletilla ochracea is a gorgeous yellow, closely related, same conditions. A wonderful group of terrestrials - among the few that can grow in the garden in many locations.

Those of you with access to the Missouri Botanical Garden, known there as Shaw's Garden - there is a beautiful planting of the normal form of this in the ground around the pavilion in the Chinese garden.

Cool photos; you can really tell they're related to Coelogynes... :)
I have been looking for a nice ochracea for a while but it seems there aren't a lot for sale. The only one I found with good flower form was bred to have a pink tint, which sort of defeats the whole novelty of a yellow Bletilla. |
Your photo's aren't crappy! They are good. Nice flowers.
