Repot or not-cymbidium green maureen

Hello everyone.:hello
I’m wondering if I should repot Cymbidium Maureen Green (Green Maureen x ensiflolium (alba)) because the roots are coming out from the bottom now. I received this last year, repotted it then. Growing in bark/lava rock/moss. Temp around 28 c day, 17 night under red/purple grow light, humidity 50-70 in a portable plastic greenhouse. Two growths this winter, another one coming out. Thank you for any advice. Sienna |
I would leave it...but I'm lazy.
They like to be potbound. |
You could probably go another year... I have found that Cyms bloom best just before they break the pot. Don't worry about roots coming out the bottom - it looks like you have an arrangement to give them some "running room". For when you DO repot, consider looking for the tall-form Cymbidium pots - I have found that Cyms love the extra room to grow their roots vertically (and makes repotting a whole lot easier than when they wind around)

Thank you for your advice. I’ll wait till next year to repot.
I hope it fills the pot up with bulbs and roots and break the pot this year, which means they might bloom soon. Yay! In the meantime, I’ll also find a tall skinny pot with holes and legs for it for next year. Thank you. |

Hi everyone
I hope that you are all having a good summer. My Cymbidium Green Maureen bloomed with three spikes this year for the first time. I bought it last year. The fragrance is very nice- I love it. I thought to share. Thanks for all of your advice. |
