Paph growing over soil level
Hi there!
I have Paph plant with its stem growing above the soil level. It's initiating new roots but they fail to progress. I don't know if I should add some substrate... What would you do? Thanks, Tango. |
..some pics will be nice

How long since it was repotted? Most should be repotted every 2 years.

1. It is CRITICAL that the root crown (line between roots & leaves) be 1/4-3/8" (6-8 mm) below the surface of the medium in the pot. Otherwise new roots fail to develop properly.
2. As seedling Paphs grow (new leaves from the center, and oldest leaf getting re-absorbed, they tend to rise out of the mix. You need to top off the medium (or repot entirely). |
Hi Estación Seca and Fairorchids,
Thanks for your feedback. It's a large seedling bought one year ago, the leaves it had then are already dying so the crown is slightly over the soil level. I'll add some new substrate!!! Thanks again, T. |
