Species orchids
 

This summer I added a few species orchids to my collection. This is new for me as I've always gone with hybrids because they were easier.
I added Phalaenopsis Bellina and Phalaenopsis Yin's Black Eagle.
They both seem to grow very slowly. Yin's Black Eagle has been in spike for 2 months and Bellina's only grown 1 new leaf.Bellina blooms in spring/summer so I guess I'll have to wait until next year.
So do species phal's grow slowly or its just my care?
I've attached pic's. Any advice on how to get them to bloom?

Phal. bellina is a species (hence the lower case), but Yin’s Black Eagle is a hybrid. Both like it very warm and deeply shaded.

Compared to other plants, all orchids are slow growers, and “slow” is quite subjective, so I don’t see how to tell if your growing skills are affecting that!

Neither the bellina nor the majority of the species in the background of the hybrid require temperature manipulation to bloom, so you’ll just have to do what you can to give them what they need and be patient.

They're not super fast growers, and require lots of heat and humidity.

The coloration of the leaves is perfect for a bellina.

If my memory is correct, you mentioned having borderline night temperatures for those hot growers.
In low land Borneo, they don't see temperatures inferior to 77°F; so my guess for lack of flowering and slow-ish growth is that they need to adapt to your conditions, and your nights might be too cold.

I get confused about the nomenclature of orchids so I'll read up on how to write the names properly.

Is it blooming size? I bought mine as a young plant and had to wait two years to see the first spike (last year). My bellina doesn't do much during the winter but starts growing a leaf around February/March, then begins a spike around May. It is currently blooming from two spikes right now. When conditions get too cool, the sequential blooming will grind to a halt. At least, that is what happened last year.
