Some sweet tiny lepanthes

My Ecuagenera order is finally here and wanted to share these two cute and tiny lepanthes I potted up in live sphag and leca

Lepanthes calodictyon x tentaculata

Lepanthes telipogoniflora (can't stop buying these)

The pots are sake cups I bought from a local asian market for $1.29:biggrin:

Very nice!

How are you growing these? It looks like the telipogoniflora is getting a lot of light!

I love the sake cups!

Thanks!! I'm growing them under leds on the bottom-most shelf where I have other cool growers. It doesn't really get that "cool" down there but I think being closer to the ground does something. Telipogoniflora apparently is the most warm tolerant lepanthes which I've found to be true because mine are always flowering while my other cooler growing pleurothallids do nothing (at least they aren't dying)

I've also found that all of the telipogonifloras I've had will get red even if I try to put it in the shadiest spot. I don't mind it so much but I do think the orange flowers look better when in contrast with green leaves. Oh well.

Both (or should I say all 3 since I dont think calodictyon x tentaculata is a natural hybrid) are found in Central and South America with telipogoniflora at the lowest elevation of 500-700 m

They look really great!

Those leaves are super cute. The little morning glory origami orange flower is so nice too.

Ahhh. Reminds me of a paper umbrella that one might have in an exotic cocktail. It's 5:00 somewhere.

Can't get over how green your sphagnum is. You have some magic water or something?

Tell us more about how you are watering/fertilizing/etc?

For those little guys, they are getting only RO water until I am brave enough to fertilize very gently lol

I made another post awhile ago asking for people's advice on using live sphag in a semi-hydro setup and then went ahead and tried it

It's actually doing quite well. I took this pic of my bulbo a few days ago:

This bulbo pot gets RO water with 25 ppm of K-lite about twice a week with plain RO water sprayed on top in between. I think higher light at least when first establishing the moss is important. I have live sphag in some other pots that don't get as much light and the moss heads are growing a bit of algae which is not pretty.

I've only had it growing for a few months so I hope it stays healthy long-term!
