Catasetums created two plants

I'm new to Catasetums , this year being the first time I've ever had them but I've read a lot about them. I just want to confirm my assumptions about what is going on with my three plants.

I have three catasetums since last year for the first time. Two came back with two plants after dormancy and one came back really large as a single plant.

I notice with catasetums they usually are sold as only one plant so can I split up the two which has two plants at some point or is it better to leave them together? I am guessing I would split them during dormancy if I do but if it's better to leave them together than I can do that.

Thank you!

It is much better to leave them together. Catasetums grow best if you make 4-5 bulb divisions. If you split too soon, that little baby will not have a big bulb to help nourish it during dormancy. Nice healthy looking plants, by the way.

I have my fingers crossed for some flowers this year.

Also, don't even think about repotting until they do go dormant. For me, this year was a bumper crop of them. A few that had been puttering along for years produced pseudobulbs that, if cooked, would feed a small village. Time for bigger pots! I expect to be rather busy around January or February... Big ones bloom better than small ones...

If you look at photos in the wild they can fill bushel baskets or even wheelbarrows. The more pseudobulbs connected together, the better the flower show. Keep them undivided as much as possible.
