Sobralia anyone?
Anyone here growing sobralia? i only have two species, macrantha and panamensis. I'm interested in obtaining others but basically no one in australia grows them :(

I have one I've identified as "macrantha". Possibly one more in about 20 unidentified (yet...waiting for blooms) species I recently accquired.
ajijicgeorge/sobralia macrantha - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Scroll down to sobralia in the following link (Mexico species)...Interesting Species Catagories |
Nice :) If you can ever poduce seeds on those species (other than the macrantha) i'd be more than interested. I could only get macrantha and panamensis in australia. My panamensis is just producing a flower bud now. I aquired it quite recently. My macrantha are just seedlings at the moment.

I have two plants of S. Callosa and flasks of S. Bouchei. I will bring them back to Australia next year. I am going to try cloning Callosa. I hope I will have plants in the future to swap or sell.

That would be great, i have panamensis flowering size plants and seedlings of macrantha from flask. Here is a sobralia panamensis flower.

Really nice flower.... here in my country sobralias grow in the mountain near the road... is so easy to find them in blooming season... I donīt like sobralias because the life time of the flower= 1 day.... but are so beautifull to see on the road...
