SE Asian orchid identification

Hi,

I bought an orchid while in Vietnam and it’s the strangest orchid I’ve ever encountered. It has a large oval brown psudeobulb with what look like phal leaves. Then it has a thick almost wood like root (separate looking from its other roots) that connects it to another psudeobulb.

Any help is appreciated!

A Bulbophyllum, perhaps? It's difficult to tell from the limited photo. Of course a definitive ID to the species level would only be possible when it blooms. If you can maintain a mounted plant, this would probably love to be mounted. Otherwise, since it looks like it wants to ramble, a shallow pot with sphagnum might be good for potting. I would guess that it came from a humid environment - so it would want to be kept moist but not soggy.

It looks and sounds like a bulbophyllum of some sort.

By the way, that isn't a root, but a rhizome.

I agree with Roberta on the care information.
