Bulbophyllum purpurascens
It is labeled thus but I wonder. I don't know if I have an atypical plant or that it is still young (first blooming) or it is something else entirely but it doesn't fit the description.

Nice, and these photos are visible.
|
That shape is nice and 'alien'. Gotta love the variety that bulbos have to offer.

Good things in small packages...and all that!

I don't know the answer but I really like the flowers.

Way cool! Good growing.

If you don't get your questions answered, you could contact Edgar Stehli of Windswept in Time Orchids (I think his Email is on his website). He grows quite a few Bulbos and is quite knowledgeable about them. He may be able to help you or direct you to someone who can. Andy of Andy's orchids might also be a good person to ask, too, since he seems to offer quite a few for sale.

Thanks all for the comments.
I have two smaller plants from other sources, so I'll wait and see if this is normal. I'm underwhelmed right now. |
You will need to let us know what happens with the other two. If they are seedling grown, there can be some variation, unfortunately.
Sometimes, they can be misidentified, too, unfortunately. |
Great blooms. |
