Lepanthopsis astrophora 'Stalky'
2 Attachment(s)
The flowers on this one are really tiny. I haven't had this long enough to get a feel for where it should go.
Anyone growing it? |
Wow! Another gorgeous little Pleuro cutie! Again, can't really provide you any insight. But man...great 'chids you've got there. By the by, what is this cross? Lepanthes x ?

Not sure on the cross, thats just the name it came with.
Now that you mention it, I did contact Grow-in-Hydro, the swampstick guy, for a custom project. It won't be here for a few weeks but that would be a great home for it. For those interested I've posted the pic he sent. So far everything has went perfectly with my dealing with Jesse. But thats for another thread. |
Wow, a very cute plant! This species can make quite large clumps in the wild :)

Lepenthopsis is not a cross, but a southamerican Genus. You can see soem of the species here inthis link: Lepanthopsis |
Yeah looks like a Pleuro to me, that flower is amazing.

Very very nice blooms. Sorry, no advice other than standard Pluero care.

Lepanthopsis astrophora 'Stalky'
Just to make sure things are clear. Lepanthopsis astrophora is not a hybrid but a species. The cultivar name, 'Stalky' was given in honor of G.C.K. Dunsterville, author of on many books and articles on the orchids of Venezuela. Both he and his father were nicknamed 'Stalky' and the father was the basis for Kipling's character in "Stalky and Company."

I just fell in love with this one too!
I did a search and found that our good friend Shanna is growing it, check out this thread for some tips: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ra-stalky.html |
Yep, I have one... it is the cutest little thing! Mine tends to produce keikis more than flowers, though... :-(
However, it is now quite a sprawling - though still dainty - plant. I grow mine cool with my other Pleurothallids. |
I use to have the same excact plant its not a pluero, its the lepanthopsis, I grew mine in a miniature terrarium did awsome till it sat in the sun to long killed the whole plant
