Default Hanging baskets at home?

I have recently acquired several orchids that are usually grown in hanging baskets — Stanhopeas and a Coryanthus. I keep my orchids in the house and am wondering how to deal with the hanging baskets.

I have a couple of good windows, but don't want to drip all over the floor.

Anyone have any good tricks or suggestions for keeping them moist and lit and not destroying the house at the same time?

I don't have basketed orchids indoors - but do have some mounted ones. I let them drip off in the shower before rehanging them in their windows.

When I water some of my plants, I let them sit on a towel on my kitchen table until they quit draining. Then I put them back in place.

You can suspend below the orchid pot a plastic drain dish intended to go under a plastic pot. Or you can put a plastic bag on the floor in the drip spot until it stops dripping.

I don't know how fussy you are about how things look but you could get some puppy piddle pads to put on the floor while they are dripping, letting them dry and using again and again. At paint stores and Lowes etc. you can buy large dropcloths (that look like large piddle pads) they could probably be cut to size.

Thank you everyone for the ideas. These are great. I think a combination of tricks might work.
