I think as ES has said, you have Brugmansias and I have Daturas, different flower orientation!

Yes, the seeds are poisonous and as the pods are like little balls ............ maybe not a good idea while you have a pup. But, by the time a plant grows from seed your pup would be a year old, so perhaps would be ok?
