Default Well dressed duo

This pair of tuxedos came to us in the strangest ways. Tux, the larger male, belonged to my son when he and his wife came to live with us for awhile. At about 1yr he apparently suffered a stroke. Lost his sight and hearing. Couldn't smell. My DIL wanted to put him down, but big hearted me quashed that idea and hand fed and watered him to see if he would respond. He lived mostly in my lap while recuperating and now finds that his safe place. Well, he eventually regained his sight and hearing. He gets around ok but is constantly looking and turning left. (He's my furry NASCAR driver)
The smaller female is Daisy. She is a rescue from a place here called the Hobo Hotel. She started out being very aloof. Apparently she was a two time resident at the rescue. After being with us a year we had to evacuate from the two major hurricanes to hit us this year. They both spent weeks in hotel rooms and while Tux coped, Daisy found great adventure in the whole ordeal. She is turning into a well adjusted family member.

Thumbs up

You're a shorts wearin', sneaker donned saint-of-a-guy and just the kind of story I need right about now. Hope ALL the family can be together for the holiday(s).BTW, I'd say well dressed trio.

So cute! But D.O.M. ....... for this particular occasion ------ don't you think that you're 'slightly' underdressed for the occasion?

On the other hand, the cats could be 'slightly' overdressed for the occasion.

Ive heard they are called jorts.
Despite your cats more 'formal wear' they seem to love their more casual owner. 👍😁
Beautiful smart cats, both in looks and attitude.

Beautiful cats! And a beautiful story about how each came to be in your life. Thank you for being a rescuer (for Daisy) and a rehabilitator (for Tux) and giving both of them such a great home.

Where I come from we call em cutoffs! Got holes in your knees? Just cut em off! I like my shorts and tennys and a t-shirt. Poor Tux is a little brain-damaged and gets confused easily. Daisy is sharp as a tack! She will reach into the treat bag and pull out one morsel to eat from her paw!
Thanks for all the comments.

I have to join in. First, great story and God bless your huge heart!

We've rescued all of ours. And Dolly, my atavar, came from the Pick N Pull junk yard in Gary Indiana. She was found there as a kitten and turned into the Hobart Animal Control. We got her at about 6 months. She wasn't socialized and has "orphan kitten syndrome." At 10 she has made great progress but is still temperamental. We often call her "The Dollinator." Arnold would be proud.

She got along with Nathan (my dearest buddy who passed last month from FIP, which would be another heart wrenching, tear filled post.) But, he would just trounce her when she got out of line, problem solved.

We adopted Guinness, a tortie senior to be Nathan's companion. Being an absolute gentleman, he passed me off to her to take care of... A few weeks after we got her, he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. So, now I'm looking again for that sweet, kind, intuitive buddy. Guiness is doing the best she can but I can tell she loves the printer more than me.

In order: Guinness (aka The Diva), Nathan (my prince) and the Dollinator.
