Question Tiny Black round bugs crawling on Tolumnia

I just discovered many tiny round black bugs scurrying around on my mounted tolumnia. They move very quickly but are too small to photograph without a macro lens.
they mostly seem to stay around the roots but also do crawl on the leaves. I don't see any webbing like you would for spider mites. They are too small to be scale and are easily squished(no crunch). They do not appear to have wings either. Mr. Triquetra otherwise seems to be happy. I just would like to know what kind of bug this is and if it is harmful. I also would like to know how to treat Mr. Triquetra on his mount if this is a harmful pest. Thanks.

Oribatid mites are one possibility.

You need to get a 10X magnifying glass.

This does look a lot like what I have been seeing. I did get a picture but I can't post it yet (newbie) and I don't have a magnifying glass but I would say that these are the size of a head of a pin. So are they harmful? If they aren't I won't bother to get rid of them but would like to know.

If you look closely do they have 2 little white specks? I get these little black springtails in my sphagnum moss from time to time then they disappear for a few weeks and reappear as fast as they went.

Here is a photo I took of them with a toothpick for size reference. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...1/IMG_8039.jpg
They have been ID'd as Two-spotted springtails by an entomologist. Two-spotted springtail - Sminthurinus quadrimaculatus - BugGuide.Net

The young ones are entirely black, they float on water and "jump" when touched like other springtails.

Definitely not spring tails. They don't have spots and are more smooth with a slight shine to them. I really wish I could post a picture.

From what I have read I have tentatively concluded that Oribatid mites are probably not harmful to orchids.

Thanks guys. I think I will just let things stay as they are. You know, that let sleeping dogs lie mentality. Even so I will keep a watchful eye out.
