It's not going to thrive for very long in a cup without food, why not just release it on a citrus tea of your last boss or evil nemesis?

Not sure if it will survive for very long on Ficus, some catepillars are very specific on their hostst. This one seems to prefer citrus.

Not sure either, but I am sure he wasn't going to survive on my little potted tree. When I placed him in the cup outside between the junipers, he managed to get out and I spotted it eating juniper. I hope it survived but if he didn't I won't feel so bad for a non-threatened species. I think I gave him a fair chance to survive.

Beautiful capture - great bug! Thought of as a major pest in FL, but a native one...

Eek!! I know this is an old thread, but I just ran across it. That is a really ugly critter, Swamper!

I wanted to say hi, too. It's been a long time since we've touched base with each other.

Anyway I was thinking what a strange dropping when it moved and I was like NO FREAKIN WAY what is that eating all my leaves. I was going to squash it but as I started snapping pictures, I saw eyes, mouth, legs and figured maybe I shouldn't kill it without at least finding out what it is. It looks like a snake/caterpillar but I don't know much about caterpillars unless it's an engine. ANyway can someone please help?
