I thanked Ross already.

But, THANKS AGAIN ROSS!!!
Threading was a great one!!!!!

Even though, some are still getting the food, don't get their teethies caught, set off the trap, and walk away unharmed? I don't get how they can get all that food, set of the trap, and slip away, unscathed?? Tricking little MOFO's!!!

But at least 2 of their buddies got it!!! I'm holding out for more though!!

I don't know if Barn Owls hang out in Florida. I'll have to look that up. In Oregon and California, orchard owners and other farmers put up nest boxes on tall poles. The parent owls hunt for ground squirrels, mice etc. to feed their young. This is less expensive for the farmer and a great natural pest control. There must be some owls in Florida that need a nice nest box in your yard. You need a predator that hunts when your mice/rats whatever is out looking for food. For everything there is a predator.

just becareful if you decide to go the 'green' route encouraging native preditors to snack on your ratties. make sure you stop putting poison treats out......don't wanna deep six anything but rats.

Maybe more thread? Or yarn I don't know. As someone earlier stated they get used to the setup and learn to avoid it. I'd try a variation of the tieing or a variation of the wadding it around the bait. You can also tie the bacon to the trap trigger (there is a metal loop in the trigger? Right?) and see if this helps. Eventually you'll get the colony. I'm certain you've gotten 2 jouveniles and you need the get the parents and the rest of the tribe. One day, though another colony may move in (oh joy ) Glad you got a couple of the B*******rds.

Paul & Ross, you both are funny mofo's I won't hurt you Paul
But I am dying here... they still steal the food. daily. And get away unscathed?? I'm switching to Bacon now, maybe that'll get better rusults. As 2 is not enough! Not when I see every other trap eaten! That means that the rest of the tribe comes and has a free feast!!

As for the owl, I don't need any more predators! I have lots of Koi in a pond in the back yard too. And I don't need any more preds there! I already have a problem with Hawks!
