Default Black big on den.

I found 4 of this big on my den. yesterday. There doesn’t appear to be any damage yet. Today I found this one crawling up my leg when I was standing in area the den lives but none on the plant. I haven’t seen it on anyone else. What is it and how do I deal with it?

I can’t ID it from the photo, but morphologically it doesn’t look like it would be a plant pest (shape/size/etc.). It’s probably living in the medium in the pot, or just passing through. Hopefully someone else can help you ID it.

It reminded me of a tick but not as flat and less creepy. The body was flat at the edges but rounded a little in the center. The edges of the body had very small black and white stripes, kinda like fringe but not fuzzy and the edge was smooth.

That’s reassuring though. I’m hoping you’re right. Thanks.

I also can't identify what bug is that. Although many bugs living in our plants don't harm directly our plants, their presence is an indication of what's going on in the pots (and the plants).
See if this old thread is of any help.

Do you have dogs? Was thinking a dog tick...8 legs and good photos if you Google it.

That doesn't look like any kind of tick to me. The head is far too large in relationship to the body. Even a hungry tick that is not engorged with blood has a very tiny head compared to the body size. I can only see maybe four legs, three on one side, and one on the other. Definitely no sign of eight legs.
