Grammatophyllum leaf spot issue help! Please
Exclamation Grammatophyllum leaf spot issue help! Please

I purchased a grammatophyllum during an orchid exhibit at a botanical garden. It was big and beautiful 🤩
Now, 2 years later it's lost alot of leaves
Fortunately, it started growing more leaves. However it seems like there is a leaf problem...it looks like tiny holes. Starting at the back of the leaf primarily and I can see that some spots are showing through the top of the leaf in some areas.
This particular orchid has alot of sticky residue since I bought it. My research says this is normal for grammatophyllums.
I don't see mites. I think it may be a fungus or bacteria since the holes are about the size of the sticky dew that secretes from the back of the leaf.
I live in Connecticut (Northeast)
To water and clean leaves, I bring the plant in the shower and spray leaves and saturate big root system. It doesn't seem to help.

It is awfully difficult to diagnose issues WITH a photo, and near to impossible without, but...

It is not a good idea to wet the leaves when you water. Retained droplets become great incubators for pathogens.

It's highly unlikely to be fungus or bacteria in a low-humidity, centrally heated home. Pictures would help.

They will drop some old leaves every year when the new growth period begins. Growing one of these in the northeast is pretty difficult because they thrive on year round humidity.

I also think you have scale insects. Look with a magnifying glass.
