Hi everyone,
I was just curious about having flies that like to regularly sit for long periods of time on orchid buds. I see this fly regularly landing on my Encyclia Cindyís bud at night. I tried to take a picture. Heíll sit on the same bud for a long time. Just wondering how it will effect the development of the C buds, if itís a good thing or not.

i get tons of bugs and flies all over the spikes- i think they like the honeydew and (for fragrant plants) they like the smell

I imagine I lose 5-10% of flower buds (not spikes, but one of 20 total flowers) to bugs or some other force of nature. I prefer to have the bugs and animals than the extra flowers
