Fungus, Bacterial or Virus?

I’ve got two plants that I am very concerned about. One is a vanda that I bought probably 6-8 months ago, the other is a Encyclia which has been mounted for quite some time now. There are black spots that have consumed every leaf on the vanda and some black spots on the tips of my Encyclia leaves. Any insight, suggestions or input is very much appreciated. ❤️

Sometimes, spots can be due to element deficiency -------- do you sometimes apply cal-mag supplements?

If both plants abruptly started to get spots and it is spreading, then could try an orchid-safe systematic fungicide ..... just in case.

When I bought the vanda it pretty much looked the same. I felt bad for it, figured it was something I could clean up with tlc n put it in a secluded spot in the porch. I have seen no response, so to speak. The leaves are covered in black dots, and no new growth.
The Encyclia has shown some black dots on previous leaf tips that I have cut off with sterile shears. I am seeing it is showing the same spots and somewhat yellowing as before in other areas now.
I have not treated either plant with anything.

What temperatures have these plants experienced? Vandas tend to get black spots when they get cold - fungal no doubt. The Encyclia could be the same issue (some are more cold tolerant than others, so knowing specifically which one would help diagnose) Especially if they got wet late in the day and then it got chilly. Probably not harmful, but unattractive. In the case of the Vanda, if it hasn't been growing again temperature could be an issue - where are you located? What temperature range have the plants been experiencing?

At any rate, spots aren't going to go away. If the cause is removed, hopefully they won't get worse.

Not possible to rule out virus. There is totally no sure way to diagnose it without testing. Even the experts get it wrong either positive or negative by just looking. Do keep it away from other plants, and wash hands after handling.

I am in swfl, so temperatures stay pretty high. I bring them in when temps drop. The are getting morning sun, filtered thru a screen. I have been keeping an oscillating fan on during the day. I water morning to mid day and have been trying to keep moisture up.

Since it isn't likely to be cold damage, I'd be quite concerned about that Vanda. Perhaps our other members who live in your area will have some experience with the problem.
