Neofinetia falcata Hausermann's sale plant Male
Default Neofinetia falcata Hausermann's sale plant

This arrived in mid March from Hausermann's. I wasn't planning on ordering it, but it was on sale (they still are.) I've been meaning to post photos since it began blooming over a week ago.

It is still in the original 2" across x 2.75" deep 5cm x 7cm pot. It has three fans: the main, one nearly as large, and one just beginning. There were no spikes on arrival, and I was very surprised when I saw 4 spikes emerge. I didn't realize this could bloom so small. It has a total of 15 flowers; there is one bud yet to open.

I really like the strong (vanilla x bubble gum) scent, which is stronger at night.

You must be very happy with all those blooms! Looks like a nice plant, I've never grown one. I'm curently awaiting a shipment from Hausermann's myself, an impulse buy last week late night. Hope it arrives soon.

Neofinetia are something I would like to try.

Beautiful. What a wonderful bonus that it bloomed for you so quickly. That fragrance description sounds scrumptious!

I may need to pick one up. We are planning a trip which includes a stop at Hausermann's. If all goes as planned, we will be there sometime next week. This could be a very dangerous trip, indeed!

Except it is a family vacation and I can not bore them with an all day visit. Just a brief stop on the way to see some quaking bogs and state parks.

When you get to Hauserman's the Neofinetia are on a large table off the main show room, inside the first green house. They have a lot of them. They sell their plants by the pot and not by the fan, so look over the plants carefully and you will find several multi-fan plants. Find the one or two with the most fans. When I was there, three weeks ago, they were priced at $14.50.

Near these Neofinetia there are several hybrids that you might also consider.

An hour is probably not going to be enough. LOL
