My sunset valley sale orchid bloomed today, and I can't resist devouring it....
blc. Picotee flight x blc. Izumi charm

edit: I looked up the parents of this orchid and it seems none of them actually share any similar color pigment of this one?
Also there is a flow pattern on the right petals, making it even more ice cream like!

It will be interesting to see what the colors are after the flower matures a bit. I saw one photo in Orchidwiz for Picotee Flight that was more pink (most are yellow), clearly there's some red/pink pigment in the background of both. I see the beginnings of splash petal (which both parents have). But this could become either more yellow or more pink with time. When both red/pink and yellow are in the same flower I have seen several instances where they don't develop at the same rate so the color changes over the next few days. It will be interesting to see what it does!

that is interesting indeed. I had to double check my tags to see if I've got the right one. I think it's thanks to the izumi background that's washing out the picotee's pigment. I do hope it'll keep its pink pigments and becoming even frillier.
