Default Cattleya cernua

This mounted Cattleya cernua arrived from Andy's Orchids with new growths, so I can't take credit for the blooms, but this is my first Catt and I love it!

I also filmed a herky-jerky timelapse, for those interested in watching it dance!

Great time lapse! And I really like the colour. Very nice first catt.

Appears to be 'crystalline' too ..... I guess they have to give the appearance a name for us to refer to ----- as in the tepals have reflective sparkles, which I like very much in many orchid flowers.

Are the tepals sparkly? If they do have the 'glitter' in it, then sunlight will make it sparkle like a diamond.

But even if no glitter ---- the surface looks so nice and smooth and shiny already.

Yeah, I'd say they're sparkly! It's been hard to capture both the color and texture accurately. I'd say the color in this photo is less saturated than how it looks to me.

Ultra nice! True ..... the eyes will pick up extra detail that may not show up in pics. Even when we look at an orchid flower with our two eyes ..... I think our two eyes are able to look a little bit around the sides, while a camera with single lens hasn't got the same ability. I had been looking around for 'reliable' 2-lens cameras ...... no luck yet hehe. The idea has been around, but the convenient and reliable implementation of it maybe isn't quite there yet.

Lovely and one of my absolute favorite orchids. I really wish I could find a flask of these cuties!
