Your friends must love to have you around!

then, again, I heard Swedes are rather on the serious side on average and avoid anything that might draw attention. Is this really true?

Well, then again, I think people, regardless of culture, behave very differently when they are among strangers and with close friends.

Since I can't top Mutant's pictures, I'm gonna head the other direction and post one of me looking, for some reason, more serious than I tend to be.

I like this also, your old girl is lovely. I so love old dogs, they are my weakness, I am so sorry she will have to go soon. My Maddie is old as well but seems to be doing pretty well even if her back legs don't work so well.

Thanks. Old dogs are my weakness too.

Jazzmin's my second dog that I've adopted as a senior. Her previous owners lost their home in the economic downturn and posted for help on Craigslist. My friend just happened to be up late with a sick child and was surfing Craigslist because she had nothing better to do and saw the post. She emailed me the link and I went and got Jazz the following weekend. She was 11 years old when we adopted her.

I told my hubby that I'm taking a break from adopting seniors for a while. It's hard to adopt them and then lose them two years later. But if I saw a senior in a shelter, I'd probably start the adoption process. I can't resist a dog with a gray face.

I do the same thing with cats.
I just swore I wouldn't do it for a while after the last one. It's emotionally tolling.
But then I saw this one cat in the shelter....
She's incredibly sweet, and incredibly old. The shelter estimated 17 but I honestly think she's older. I'd honestly stick her closer to 20
She's got a year or two at most, but I couldn't let her die in the shelter. I felt like she deserved a bed, cuddles, food, love, and a warm spot of sunshine to nap in.

So now I've got an extremely old cat lol. Again.

Great photos everyone

I've made this post a sticky instead of the old one. You can still see the old one here.

It's so great to put faces to so many people

Took this to send my mom the other day after I got a haircut :-)

I loved seeing all the photos everyone posted. For some reason I expected a more homogenous group of people when I joined and boy was I wrong! Nice to meet you all again.
