Not "old" as in sense of age (that's me ) but folks who have been members for quite a while and for some reason choose not to post or cannot post for some reason.

Any ideas how to stimulate participation from old-timers such as Tony and Mahon? I realize situations dictate how much we can participate, but if some have just faded away, can we get them back at least once in a while?

Just a thought I had and hope to stimulate some discussion on retention of members.

I noticed that Pat (Mahon) posted to the off topic a day or so ago. If I remember correctly he move for a new job. I was happy to see he hasn't forget us.

Ross, I agree with you about stimulating some participation on the board...now, let's figure out how to do it

Dave, I saw the post you are talking about from Pat too and was surprised because I know he left for his Air Force training. Once I opened the thread, I realized it was somebody posting a response to a post Pat made before he left. He'll be back once he's home

one way to get old members to participate is to revive the threads that they started and get them sucked into conversation. Hopefully that will lead to more participation.

I haven't been around much either. Winter has been difficult this year, very busy.

But now it's the start of spring I will post more often........hopefully that's a good thing!!!

That's right make me feel quilty. The post made me take so time off this Labor Day & say....Sorry I haven't been posting or chatting much due to being sooo busy & that I've had a really bad summer. I've had some really strange things going on with my orchids . So strange our state ag. dept didn't even know what they were or how to treat these conditions. I lost alot of these dieased plants & just trying to keep them alive has been a part time job. However most of the problems seem to be resolving & what's left of my old plants have decided to forgive me. Part of the problem started when I tried using Safer 3 in1 for Spider Mites. Apparently I guess I used too much. Then I tried using Distilled water because I was having problems with my filtered water. Then there was the bout of fungus - again too heavy with the spray gun. That's when I really lost alot of plants. They've just decided they aren't mad at me anymore & it's time to spray for fungus again

However before going to bed if I get the chance I look at the new posts. Between loongg hours, caring for plants & Daka I've been exhusted.

There have I made up for not keeping in touch. Sorry all, this winter will be easier. My windows will be closed no bugs - higher humidity = less work, more enjoyment

Welcome back to both of you! That's what I'm talkin' about! We will all be better off with the collective input of all the folks that helped put this wonderful place on the board.
