I've seen it on Hardy Orchids in the past as well... just too scared to try it because it's not cheep and I've never grown Cyps. Hardy Orchids only ship Cyps between September and March so I may try and pluck up the courage later in the year.

For me, it would not be an orchid. If I had the no limitations on money and space, I would instead buy a greenhouse with climate control. So I could control exact humidity and temperature, as well as the amount of light that comes in. Then I would stick all my my Masdies in there, and buy a bunch of other orchids and plants.
If it had to be an actual orchid, I would go with Masd. coccinea or M. ignea. But only because I would have the perfect growing conditions in my new greenhouse, |

Well I would have to keep the plant I share a name with Brassovola David Sander
Now that I have reread the question. I will have to give it a little more thought. |
I smell a sticky in the future.

If I could have 1 orchid I would not be collecting orchids. Growing 1 orchid to me would be unbelievably boring.

For me with so many outstranding Cattleya Alliance species out there. I guess I would have to say either Laelia anceps guerrero 'Queen of the Valley' AM/AOS or Cattleya jenmanii alba 'Fuch's Snow' FCC/AOS
