They are a week late now and no progress, still stuck in same depot.

Ps: It's DHL who have always been good. I mean yodel and Hermes are pirates so who is left to use... onto UPS...
Strange, I've never had problems with DHL! (but plenty with PostNL) Have you tried contacting them?

PS: Fuerte, good luck with your car! That sounds like a terrible situation.

I've had orchids stuck in the postal system before, sometimes upwards of ten days. But the plants arrived in fine condition. Depending on where you are and where you ordered from, the weather is probably still mild, and you should be fine. And once gain, depending on who you ordered from, if the plants are damaged, they very well may replace them for you, even though it wasn't there fault. I wouldn't worry too much until the plants get there and you can see how they look. If they are damaged, contact the seller. Priority Mail always carries up to 50 dollars worth of insurance (and you can buy even more) to the seller may be able to file a claim and the money for the damaged plants back.

DHL has a good reputation, but I had an order from Germany early last summer, paid quite a bit extra to get DHL express... but it turns out that once the shipment got to the US, it was turned over to the tender mercies of the USPS... for a month the order disapperared, DHL claimed delivery to USPS but USPS didn't show it for 3 weeks. Fortunately they were dormant tubers, and so survived the extended trip. I also know of an instance where a vendor shipped using DHL, one of three boxes went astray for some time, the paperwork showed 3 so customs didn't process, and the vendor missed a show. (pre-COVID by a couple of years) So, not perfect. I wonder if there is ANY competent carrier for international shipments. Within the US I have started using FedEx, their ground service competes quite favorably with USPS Priority Express.

I'm quite impressed with TNT, at least for business accounts. I shipped (next day priority) 5 huge boxes of plant tissue samples on dry ice from the Netherlands to an institute in the UK. Packages got delayed by over 24h, and not only did they inform us of the delay, they also opened all the boxes to top up the dry ice. My colleagues say this is unheard of, most carriers would have happily let the samples thaw... (as I experienced during my PhD)

Order arrived safely today.

I even got a freebie but the label is blank. I was looking around scratching my head but I guess this will have to stay a no-ID..
Ah well it will have a good place here, just hope it's something I'd pick. Also I am not sure at what temps to keep a no-ID so hot it will have to be. Seems fairly compact so I'm quite curious what it is.

Worth asking the seller what the mystery plant might be. Could be that they chose it as a freebie just because it had no tag so they couldn't be certain, but possible that they can at least guess based on where it was in their greenhouse.( Like maybe even come up with a "short list" of what it might be if they had some seedlings that got mixed up, which would make a good educated guess possible when it blooms.) At any rate, they should at least be able to tell you something about the conditions since they grew it for at least some time.
