Just a little extra thrown in now that you're back. Hurricane season didn't want you to miss all the fun.

Phew...........so far Eta has been a non-event here.
Looks like there is one more band to come in around noon which is when we'd be likely to get some surge if we're going to get any.
Right now just windy but we've had no issues at all. Hopefully it stays that way.

i have been shocked by how hard we've been getting it...non-stop rain and pretty gusty.

lots of new growths already rotted. i squeezed a brown area on the base of a Catt maxima pbulb and it mushed and tiny worms came out, so YAY

several small trees down, all young, no big deal

Yah well, I shouldn't have said anything because we are getting hammered now by what looks like the last outer band on radar.

Hope you will both get through this unscathed. Sorry about the new growths rotting. Hope you get that under control.

I've just read through this thread to see if there were any tips for dealing with potential tsunamis!

One of the Canary Islands, La Palma, has long been considered to be at risk of causing a tsunami if the unstable ridge of Cumbre Vieja collapses.

Well, the last few days the earthquakes have been building and building, centred on that ridge, the magma appears to be rising as the quakes are at shallower depths. Hundreds of small quakes and quite a few around magnitude 3, which is not particularly high, but numerous quakes under that ridge might be just the trigger!

ERROR: The request could not be satisfied

Cumbre Vieja - Wikipedia

There have been various 'models' of what the tsunami might look like - all seem to be differing opinions - we're just hoping it doesn't happen!

Edit - if it says error on one of the links try clicking on it anyway, sometimes it works! It's the volcanic activity map for our area.
