Way to go, Terri!

Nice things are happening for you
You have done SO much better with your L. Santa Barbara Sunset ‘Showtime’ HCC/AOS than I have. I look forward to seeing blooms on yours...because mine isn't cooperating

Thanks Terri, I am so happy to have these orchids in bloom when the snow refuses to melt fast enough. It is my paradise.

Thanks Shakkai!
It is now 9:15 am and I've been up since 5:30 am and just now finishing watering, fertilizing, and pep talks to my orchids.
Tonight is the annual Orchid Auction at our Maine Orchid Society meeting. It's over an hour's ride, and I have no intention of buying another orchid. Yeah, right..... I can see I need to practice that line a few more times in front of the mirror.
Why do I keep thinking I need another orchid. Why why why!!!!!! I don't have room, I don't have room, I don't have room!!!!!
Frankly, quiting smoking was probably easier than not buying orchids.

OK Kiki so what did you buy?

I need to tweek my list a bit. The Den. jenkinsii blasted it's spike (if that's what it was) , but it's kicking out two new growths. Maybe next year. I wonder if it's the wacky weather we've been having? It was 87 last weekend and today it's spitting snow! Poor plants probably don't know what to do. The good news is the Den. Paskel Kuning 'Hawaii' that blasted a spike a few months ago has decided to try again. At first I thought it was a Keiki because it was so fat, but it's officially a spike! I haven't seen blooms on this one since I bought it 3 years ago! The spike is growing out of the side of the cane just under the last leaf. I think that's what made me think it was a Keiki. The flower if memory serves me correctly is a yellow green with a dark purple lip.

C. Summer Spot 'Carmela' has bloomed and is very nice. Can't wait for the plant to mature a little more. I think the flowers will be even nicer. Blc. Haw Yuan Beauty 'Spice Girl' is about to pop, and Pot. Hawaiian Prominence 'Carmela' is poking along but still growing. Maybe I'll see blooms in June at this rate!

You are all wondering what I got, aren't you?????
Are you sitting down????? Nada!!!!
As it turned out, the ones I wanted to bid on were starting out too high priced for my taste, and we didn't get there early enough to really look them over. There was a vanda there that was in full bloom and it was looking right at me saying "Buy me, buy me!"
It was toying with me cause I don't have enough strong light to keep it happy year round.
Isn't there a law against orchids toying with with orchid lovers???? Well, there should be!
That's all folks!!!!
