Cheap Tolumnia scandens. Spike? Male
Default Cheap Tolumnia scandens. Spike?

Last week I acquired a bunch of plants from Schwerter. They had a sale on Tolumnia scandens. 1 buck a piece. Couldn't help myself and got four. I mounted them on cork bark today.
Two of them have growths that look like this. Is this a spike?
Anyhow, for a buck I can't complain. They were a little damaged on the drive back to Austria but I think they have a good chance of doing well.

I agree. Looks pretty likely to be a spike. Nice purchase! Post pictures when it blooms, tolumnia are some of my favorites.

Thanks fellas. This is my first Tolumnia species (although I also have Oncidiums and Psychopsis). I'll be curious to see what the blooms look like. Of course I'll be sure to share photos should they bloom for me.
