Default Miltonopsis twin peaks

i killed a few miltonia and miltonopsis trying to grow them in pots for the evaporative cooling at the roots and to try to make them more comfortable and i think they were too wet and too hot and together that killed them.

I have now tried again and this time, one Miltonia and one Miltonopsis, both mounted and both have grown and spiked in my care.

i call it an indicator that it is at least a better setup- not calling it a success yet.

it is a stunner though!

Note that most Miltonias are warm growing. Most Miltoniopsis are cool growing. You could probably grow Miltonia spectabilis outside on a palm tree.

Funny, I find just the opposite... Miltonia spectabilis and moreliana, Miltonia regnillii grow well for me outside (through winter cold), just got Milt. candida which grows well for several other people in my area. The only Miltoniopsis I have been able to keep alive is the species Mps. vexillaria ... I have given up on Miltoniopsis hybrids, have killed too many (in winter) They may not like heat, but I don't think they like cold either. Just narrow-range (like under 50 deg F they get unhappy)
