Winter Hibiscus flower Male
Default Winter Hibiscus flower

Blooming today in the sunroom, a red Hibiscus. I can't get a good photo with my phone. The flower is cardinal red and velvety; the photo has too much blue.

These grow well here outside, but don't flower much in winter. I am in a cold spot so I can't grow them in the ground without substantial winter protection. In central Phoenix, where winter nights are warmer, they are common landscape plants.

Nice!
I have one in-ground, next to the house, but no flowers now.
