Amaryllis Show Master in bloom!
Default Amaryllis Show Master in bloom!

Well, I think it is Temptation although the tag says Show Master, whatever it is, it is beautiful for sure!

I have two bulbs of this. The other one bloomed earlier and now growing leaves.
This variety always grow two scapes at the same time (third one may develop later but not always), and all the flowers open at the same time.
Well, first three or four opens at the same time followed by the remaining two or three in a couple of days.
So when it is in bloom, it looks like a full flower bouquet.
I like it a lot!

This one has 6 flowers on each of the two scapes this year. 5 or 6 is common for this plant, although last year it was 4, 5. no 6. yay!!!

I took a bunch of pictures day and night. I like the night shots with white petals tinted with pink.

Enjoy~

WOW! Spectacular!

I was excited to find that a couple of my Amaryllis that I got as itty bitty seedlings four years ago are thinking about blooming finally!

Thank you, Rosie!
I love this flower! It is the center piece of the room at the moment.

Carrie- Yeah, I had main blooming in late Jan into February. then quiet March followed by another splash of bloom earlier this month.
The second scape of Aphrodite bent over and I had to cut it off.
It has been in water in the past two weeks. The tiny little last bud is about to open when almost the entire scape and everything looks yellow and mushy. I got lazy and never changed water in the vase nor did I cut the bottom end of the scape every few days to prolong the bloom. yet, it's amazing how long it has been alive and developing on its own.

My Ambiance is finally breaking out of its three month long "sleep" after flowering and now growing four new leaves. what a relief! I almost thought it was dead as all my other bulbs usually grow some leaves at the same time the scapes emerge or right after the flowers are finished.
well, some like longer rest than others I guess.
