Recent News from the BBC talks about a lost population of Tigers!
This could be very good news for Tiger conservation.

This is both good and bad news. It's good news in that a successfully breeding population exists, but it's bad news because poachers will decimate it the moment they get their greedy eyes and hands on it. The local government had better hurry and protect the area and its tigers before anything happens.

I agree Poachers will always be a problem whilst the Demand for Tiger fur and parts is still around

On the plus side though the article does say about them connecting up conservation areas with this new location and the High Altitude will mean you need some serious kit or already be acclimatised. A tigers range is also huge, so that will help a little. With any luck these two Tigers that they witnessed know better than to go near any Humans.
I'm sure though that folks will be doing something to protect them now that they know they are there... I would hope so anyway.

Great story, and interesting.

As a side note, there more wild Bengal Tigers on earth than wild plants of Cypripedium kentuckiense. And they're not even officially endangered. Sorry, I'm always thinking about orchids. Back to the tigers...
