Treatment for soil-dwelling ants
Default Treatment for soil-dwelling ants

We’re having a crazy problem with ants on our property. They’re invading the house and possibly moving into the soil areas around the foundation of the house, or they’re planning a move soon.

I have products for topical use indoors and outdoors, but before I blindly purchase a product for soil treatment, I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions as to what does or doesn’t work.

Ant species include native fire, imported fire, Argentinian, and possibly harvester.

None of the areas being treated connect to sewers and have no chance of runoff entering water bodies, so the “cracks and crevices only” rule on most products doesn’t apply for my intended use (unless there’s no such exemption listed on a specific product).

Thanks. Seems I’ll be ordering my first bottle of kelpak along with some acephate, pretty soon.

How would one drench under the house? Is that even possible, or a good idea?

Around the foundation, in the landscape beds. There’s nothing I can do if they’re living under the slab.
