Studies show (and the Word says) people who live with gratitude have longer, happier lives. You look for what is true good and right, and the fine qualities in people, and you'll live better and happier for it, (and you'll find what you look for.)

I'm grateful I live at a low elevation, 157m above sea level. The islands in our archipelago with higher elevations have got snow! Not unusual on Mt Teide in Tenerife (4th highest peak in Spain, mainland included) but it's falling much lower than normal.

I'm grateful for a second day of rain showers - virtually unheard of on our island. The garden is getting a wonderful natural soak.

I'm grateful I brought some warm clothes with me when I emigrated! They have mainly sat in a box under the bed for many years but the thermals have been dug out today. We had a daytime high of 13C (55F) and it's now 10.5C (51F) at 11pm - freezing for us! If this is climate change, it sucks!

Agreed. Whether the head needs screwed on tightly in morning or evening. Always grateful for centering, and hugging a tree.

Well, there are a lot of studies I steadfastly ignore... just because I'm rebellious that way. But finding gratitude on a daily basis is one I've practiced for a hella long time now, courtesy of mi Rosa. She (and you) were/are on spot. Grateful to you for starting this thread, even though it's a cut/paste for me when I do so, with editing of course.

I love that word! (archipelago) Yes, I'm a word hound. I'm always grateful when there's rain, even when there's more than enough, and grateful you have warm clothes for such a "chilly" day. Even though that sounds like grateful for the warmth, to me.

Today my best grateful has been this board, where I can always connect, even when I feel disconnected.

I try to be wide angle lens in my gratitude. Big picture big blessings. Today I am tired, I have no brain for philosophy but I have a ton of joy and gratitude for my wife (watching her make this kid and then watching her care for it. No better partner) for my pillow (I brought it from home to the hospital and even with only like 4 hours of total sleep, what a good call. And third for delivery food. Starbucks at the door at 6 am is something like a gift from god when you are sleep deprived hahahaha

Hugs to y’all

Ah yes, the gratitude of one's own pillow. Went on a soul-searching road trip back in the late seventies with my BFF. Took my beloved pillow, as I knew sleep wouldn't come without it. We left it at a motel, and had to do a 100 mile turnaround to rescue it. Grateful, also, for a friend who understood that need. Small gratitudes can be HUGE.

Well, I'm grateful for the furnace. Because we're sub zero here.
I'm grateful I bought a fancy new truck, which is smarter than both of us.
I'm grateful for a new furry family member.
And I'm grateful DC has a new baby!

I'm grateful for good books, of which there are no shortages. Without books, I don't know how I would ever get through a Michigan winter, and I certainly don't know how I would have gotten through the last year of the pandemic. I have a library nearby, a small rural library that doesn't have a huge selection, but I have the ability to borrow books from all over the state electronically and read them on my laptop, or I can order actual books through the inter-library exchange program in my state. If all else fails, there are also online used book sellers that may have a hard-to-find title for a reasonable price.

And speaking of Michigan winters, I'm also grateful for warm clothes and Sorel boots.
